Would you like to learn how to make professional garment patterns and how to grade patterns to different sizes?

Sewing experience is required to complete this course. Student's will be expected to toile garment patterns (make a garment sample).

Units of Competency

Qualification

Student's who successfully complete this course will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the unit's of competency listed above. These units form part of the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology course.

Course Duration

Students who enroll in the Part Time Pattern Making course will be completing part of the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design & Technology course with the Diploma students. Enrolment priorty goes to those who enrol in the full Diploma and therefore enrolments in this course cannot be confirmed until two weeks prior to the start date. The Diploma course starts 1 week prior to the Pattern Making Part Time Course, as during this first week the Diploma students complete a one week sewing intensive introduction.

Total Duration: 279 hours

• Gold Coast 2012: Tuesday's from 9am - 3.30pm + 5 x Thursday's (10th May, 24th May, 7th May, 21st Jun and 5th July)
• Brisbane 2012: Tuesday's from 9am - 3.30pm + 3 x Monday's (22nd May, 4th June and 25th June) and 1 x Friday - 6th July

As this course forms part of the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology, the days of the week that this course runs on cannot be confirmed until a few weeks before the course start date, and are subject to change.

Required Equipment

Students will require some patternmaking equipment and a textbook to complete this course - approximately $150.

Students will also require some sewing equipment - as they will be required to toile the patterns made during the course. If you require information on approximate costs of sewing equipment, please contact us.

Price:

The course fees are for a position in the course and are payable whether the student completes the course or not. Upon enrolling in the course, the student (and guarantor/s) becomes liable to the institute for the full course fees.

To secure a position in the course, student's must pay a minimum non-refundable course deposit of 10% of the 'Discounted Upfront Payment Price' (listed below).
