Learn to create professional fashion illustrations and specification drawings using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Students will learn the skills to create fashion illustrations, design presentations, technical drawings, swing tags, and business cards, giving students the skills to work within the fashion industry.

Graphic design skills specific to fashion design are now essential skills for those looking for work in the fashion industry, with the increase of off shore production, fashion design companies are relying more and more on electronic fashion design tools to communicate with manufacturers overseas.

This course is suitable for students interested in fashion and graphic design (from high school students to adult learners), to industry professionals looking to upgrade their skills to enhance their career prospects.

  • Learn how to use the pen tool effectively
  • Creating a symbol library of garment styles

  • Creating a 'branding pack' - logo, business card, neck label, swing tags etc.
  • Using croqui (figure templates)
  • Creating a presentation board

Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded a Statement of Attainment for the following unit, from the Nationally Recognised Textiles, Clothing & Footwear training package in Applied Fashion Design & Technology.

Students are required to have basic computing skills. No previous experience with Photoshop or Illustrator is required.

 

Required Equipment

Students will require a USB pin drive (1GB minimum size), a portable hard drive.

15 lessons X 3 hrs. (total 45 hours) Over 10 weeks. (5 days will be from 9.30 - 12.30 and 5 days will be from 9.30am - 3pm).

Price

$1500: $200 non-refundable deposit required to enrol, the balance is due on course commencement. A 5 week payment plan is available - a $25 administration fee applies to payment plans.
